In the present day scenario, Agriculture is transforming to Agrisystems, intensive agriculture, precision farming etc., to make the enterprise sustainable. Nowadays, Apart from cereals and pulses, area under commercial crops also increasing. However, judicial use and timely application of agri inputs is prime important for high yields with less cost of production. On the other hand, every crop is being affected with a plethora of biotic and abiotic stresses those need to be checked timely to get the expected yield and returns.
There is a prime need to reduce the cost of production thus increasing the net returns to the farmer. Moreover improvement of soil health, physical condition is also of very important by reducing the application of inorganic fertilizer and increasing the use of organic manures and bio fertiliser. Keeping in view of the needs of present days agriculture the Sathbhavana society is formed to conduct applied research in horticulture and agriculture and allied sectors with a long term aim of yield maximisation and improving benefit-cost ratio, while emphasizing the need for natural farming and water conservation and ground water recharge. Simultaneously the ideas of indigenous technology know how for betterment of farming is propagated. Sathbhavana Research Institute puts efforts to educate farming community on the importance of value addition of agricultural produce during research, training, thus leads to penetrate the tenets of sustainable development in agriculture.
